Privacy Policy

PlayArc is a product of arc12box (www.arc12box.com). This policy explains how PlayArc (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you use our website and mobile apps. PlayArc helps local groups organise social sport: sessions, RSVPs, informal cost sharing, match results and friendly stats. It is offered free of charge for social, non-commercial purposes only.

• Account details: the name, email address and profile photo provided by the sign-in method you choose (Google, email and password, or Apple in the iPhone app). Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication. We never see or store them. With Apple you can hide your email address.
• Profile: your display name and the skill level you pick for yourself.
• Team activity: teams you create or join, RSVPs, attendance, match scores, running distances and times, announcements, and whether you've marked a session as paid.
• Device information: if you allow notifications in the mobile app, a push token so we can send reminders.

We do not collect bank account details, card numbers or other payment credentials. The app only records whether you've paid. Any comments an organiser adds to their team are entered by them and visible only to their team.

We use your information only to provide the service, for example to:

• sign you in and keep your account secure;
• show your teams, sessions, RSVPs, payment status, results and stats;
• send notifications you'd expect, such as new sessions, reminders, waitlist updates and announcements;
• prevent abuse, for example by limiting attempts to guess team codes.

We don't use your information for advertising, profiling or marketing, and we don't send marketing emails.

• Members of your teams can see your display name, photo, skill level, RSVPs, match results and stats within that team.
• Team organisers can also see payment status and outstanding balances for their team. You can always see your own.
• Nobody else. Teams are private, can only be joined with a code, and can't be searched for.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers, data brokers or other third parties for their own purposes.

To run the app we use a small number of service providers. They process data only on our behalf and only so the service works:

• Google Firebase Authentication: secure sign-in.
• Neon: database hosting where your team data is stored.
• Expo push notifications (with Apple and Google push services): delivering notifications to your phone.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request.

We use your browser's local storage only to keep you signed in and remember which team you last viewed. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

• You can edit your name and skill level at any time from the Me tab.
• You can leave a team at any time. Your past results stay in that team's history so its stats remain accurate, but you'll no longer appear as a member.
• You can delete your account and personal information at any time in the app: Me → Delete account(web and mobile). Where results need to stay in a team's history, they're kept without your name, shown as “Former player”. You can also email us at hello@playarc.example.com.

Sign-in is handled by Firebase, data is sent over encrypted connections, and every request is checked so you only ever see teams you belong to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and keep it to the minimum we need.

PlayArc isn't intended for children under 13, and they shouldn't create an account. If you think a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.
